Delhi Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh emphasized that the patients from the economically weaker section (EWS) should be treated the way regular patients are treated.
In the wake of two Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases reported in Karnataka, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday assured complete arrangements in city hospitals to handle any potential rise in respiratory illness as per the advice of health ministry.
Bhardwaj also gave instructions to take necessary steps to prevent the serious vector borne disease. He has directed the concerned department and officials to intensify fogging and cleaning campaigns in dengue prone areas.
The minister added that 112 patients out of the total heat stroke patients have recovered and returned to their homes.
Saurabh Bharadwaj chaired an emergency meeting with heads of all major hospitals of the city on heat stroke patients.
Delhi recorded 11,684 cases of Covid-19 infection on Tuesday and 12,527 on Monday.
The vaccination process is running smoothly in Delhi, and the Delhi Government has an adequate supply of vaccines.
He said Delhi is expected to record around 20,000 cases on Saturday, less than Friday's figure of 24,383.
He said Delhi's hospitals had more than 13,000 beds meant for Covid-19 patients lying vacant.
