The Delhi CM praised the state government schools for outshining their previous year CBSE class 12th results, as this time they secured a pass percentage of 96.99, as compared to 91.59 per cent, which was last year.
Speaking at the inauguration a state-of-the art auditorium at a government school in Delhi's Civil Lines, the CM said facilities now made available in the government schools in Delhi were on par with those at the private schools.
The two teams’ TranQR and Ahilya have been chosen from the top 10 student startups from thousands of schools in India and abroad.
However, to revise the syllabus and to enhance the academic performance of the students, 'Remedial classes' will be held for classes IX to XII from January 2 to January 14, 2023, it said.
Talking about his government’s unique celebration of happiness, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “For the first time in the history of the country, children are being taught to become good human beings and to live happily; this is the most important goal of education, but it has never been taught in India."
Interacting with the principals of schools, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi asked them to focus on the school infrastructure, cleanliness, and school environment. In the last seven years, he said the government has done a lot of work on schools and has given a great model of education.
The department further said that if a guest teacher is called for any official duty by the heads of their schools during summer and winter vacations, then those days will also be included in the work experience certificate.
"If any child of Delhi wants to leave a private school and take admission in a government school, he/she will not be denied admission due to lack of a TC," he said during a press conference.
Kejriwal recalled his first brief 49-day stint in power when he resigned over the Jan Lokpal Bill issue, saying his aim was never to capture power and he never clung to power.
