Kejriwal is already on interim bail in the alleged money laundering case registered by the Directorate of Enforcement.
Telling both the trial courts and the High Courts to recognize the principle that “bail is rule and jail is exception” the Supreme court on Friday granted bail to former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party leader, Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case.
The Delhi Chief Minister has got interim bail from the Supreme Court till June 1 in a money laundering case connected to the alleged excise policy scam.
A bench, comprising Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta, said this as the arguments by the Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju appearing for the Directorate of Enforcement remained inconclusive and will continue on May 7, 2024.
Kavitha added that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already taken her statement in jail.
Atishi alleged that the BJP was now targetting AAP's next line of leaders.
"If the investigation was over, then why has he been sent to jail," she asked.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.
The Minister has said the AAP's stand remains the same and there has been no such scam, and with time all will get convinced about this.
