The Delhi unit of the Congress, on Thursday, staged a protest in the city against Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on Babasaheb Ambedkar.
His statement came hours after the former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal stated there is no possibility of any alliance with Congress for the Assembly polls.
Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav said Kejriwal makes dozens of promises to people on election eve but fulfils none after forming the government.
Yadav alleged the AAP and BJP have been acting with utmost irresponsibility in maintaining law and order.
Attacking the AAP and BJP, he said, “Only when an election comes around, the AAP and the BJP leaders wake up to rake up old issues like giving EWS flats to Rohingya refugees by sidetracking the sufferings of the people.”
The party also demanded resignation of Delhi Water Minister Atishi over waterlogging and rain-related deaths due.
Yadav further said, “Despite crime rates soaring in the capital, Rs 760 crore has been cut from the allocation for the Delhi Police which was needed for the modernisation of the force to streamline its policing methods.”
The demand of the Delhi Congress president came a day after it staged protests in various parts of the city against the Arvind Kejriwal government over Power Purchase Agreement Charge (PPAC).
Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav said steps should be taken to avoid another major water crisis witnessed in the capital a few days ago.
The meeting of the delegation of Delhi Congress with the Rights body came a day after the party demanded Rs one crore compensation for the victims stating that Delhi government’s compensation of Rs 10 lakh was too little.
