Thousands of farmers who are protesting against the three new farms bias passed by the Central Government have been moving closer to Delhi over the past two days. There have been clashes reported against the farmers and police as police deployed barricades, tear gases and water cannons to stop them.
As a preventive step, neighbouring BJP-ruled Haryana has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC to prevent assembly of protesters.
The Haryana police has issued a travel advisory, asking commuters to avoid certain national highways along the state border with Punjab and Delhi for three days, starting tomorrow, in view of the 'Dilli Chalo' farmers' protest on November 26 and 27.
BJD MP and party Krushak wing president Prasanna Acharya, Health Minister cum secretary-general Pratap Jena, MLAs DP Mishra and SD Burma said a special train will leave for Delhi on January 6 with farmers’ representatives and party activists.
