The area has been cordoned off for safety as authorities investigate the cause of the explosion.
A high alert has been sounded in the capital and security at the airport and other strategic locations have been intensified.
Police and other armed units have also increased patrolling in sensitive or crowded areas in Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur and other places.
