The 5th Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting between the Ministry of Defence of India and Spain took place here on Thursday. The meeting was co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary of International Cooperation, and Brigadier General Paulino Garcia Diego, Special Advisor on Defence Diplomacy to the Secretary General of Defence Policy from Spain.
During his two-day visit to Spain on January 13-14, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Spain Defence Minister Margarita Robles and noted that the C-295 Aircraft Assembly line plant at Vadodara has been an important project and has taken the defence and security cooperation between the two countries to the next level.
Detailed deliberations were held to expand the scope of engagement and cooperation in areas such as military, training, defence industry, R&D etc, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday.
The Kenyan delegation has met Indian defence industry representatives in Delhi. The delegation is also slated to visit Pune where they would interact with representatives of defence industries to get first-hand experience of their capabilities.
