The Indian nationals, all employees of a Doha-based company, were taken into custody in August 2022.
"We are working closely to ensure that their interests are looked after," Admiral Kumar said at a media briefing.
At a media briefing here, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said an appeal has been filed in the case. India also got a second consular access to the eight Indians on November 7.
