On a question in this regard in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary denied any announcement of the 8th Pay Commission.
Divulging the details a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said the decision will entail an additional financial liability of Rs 356 Crore to the state exchequer.
The decision would benefit around 2.15 lakh employees and 1.90 Lakh pensioners and would put an additional burden of about Rs. 500 crore on the state’s exchequer.
A total of seven lakh people, including four lakh government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners, would benefit from the decision, according to the release.
