According to Vichitra Veer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), “A PCR call was on Friday around 5:30 am about the missing of a six-day-old girl child. The matter being sensitive, officers and staff of the police station immediately rushed to the spot”.
“There have been a number of examples (of challenges) but the one I clearly remember is an opportunity to take part in the Commonwealth Cadet championships. It required around Rs 2 lakh, which I couldn’t manage, and had to miss out. I was a bit upset then but took it in my stride,” she said.
A woman and her daughter were critically injured after being shot at in the Alipur area in the national capital, police said.

Preliminary investigations indicate that while Channaveeraswamy was away at work, a stranger had entered the house in the morning and left around noon. Police suspect the stranger's involvement in the murders.
