After a successful knee replacement surgery at a top New York hospital, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama is rapidly recovering and able to walk, two of his personal physicians said on Thursday.
The proclamation came close on the heels of the visit of a high-level United States Congressional delegation to India from June 16 to 20.
He said he was moved by reports in the news about the loss of life, damage to property and the suffering faced by so many people in Maharashtra as a result of devastating flooding over the last few days.
Senior advisers to the Dalai Lama, whose numbers appear in the data, include Tempa Tsering, the spiritual leader's longtime envoy to Delhi, and the senior aides Tenzin Taklha and Chhimey Rigzen, as well as Samdhong Rinpoche
The letter called for additional funding and for bold steps to increase production.
After getting the jab, the 85-year-old Nobel Peace Laureate thanked the Central and the state governments for facilitating him to get the jab at the Zonal Hospital in Dharamsala.
"The power projects would damage the geographically-volatile and highly-seismic Tawang region. The villagers of the 27 villages would also be affected if the dams and reservoirs were constructed for the power projects."
