Nine persons were injured in a cylinder blast that occurred at an eatery in Kestopur this afternoon.
Among the 14 injured, seven were seriously injured and taken to the Bhalwal Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for treatment.
Four adults were injured after a house caught fire due to the blast in the Dale Ka Pura village of the Gormi area.
Upon receiving the information at around 12:10 pm, 11 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to extinguish the blaze.
According to the Fire Department, it is suspected to be an AC compressor or cylinder blast. All the injured were taken to the Holy Family hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Five houses were damaged due to the blast and four fire tenders were pressed into action which were able to successfully douse the fire.
