The Election Commission has approved the lifting of model code of conduct in 11 districts in Odisha to facilitate speedy relief and rescue operation in view of cyclonic storm Fani.
The administration took more than 32 hours to realize that 16 tribals had been swept away on the day of the cyclone in the Gangabada, while in many other places, landslides and sudden surge in water-level led to many deaths.
"The OMCs will make arrangements for providing cylinders in lieu of lost cylinders during flood," Pradhan said.
50,990 subsidised gas connections under PMUY are provided in Gajapati district, 2,39, 683 in Ganjam and 81,979 in Rayagada, said Patro.

The death toll in cyclone Titli and the subsequent flood in Odisha has risen to 27. A total of 3,60,353 people were sheltered in 1,614 relief centres.
