Bhanu, who himself suffered severe burn injuries in that explosion, could not be released from the hospital and brought back to West Bengal.
Following the incident, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, "We are saddened by the incident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. The case will be investigated by CID,"
National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the Ram Navami violence in Howrah and Hooghly districts of West Bengal, on Wednesday, sought from the state police all the documents, including copies of the FIRs, related to the case.
Shocked by the development, the Congress had urged the ruling BJP government to initiate action against all guilty.
The building was ripped apart beyond redemption. An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in the charge of the police station was later suspended on dereliction of duty.
He asserted that according to the Business of the Haryana Government (Allocation) Rules, 1974, the CID department was part of the Home department.
