Speaking to some media persons on Tuesday, the CM also said that the state cabinet has decided that from now on, the Vice Chancellors (Kulpati) of universities in the state will be officially called ‘Kulguru’.
The revered spiritual leader emphasised the urgent need to cease cow slaughter, highlighting it as a paramount concern in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
While timely action by the police brought the situation under control, the tension continued to prevail till late at night with both the groups raising slogans against each other.
Speaking to reporters outside the Raj Bhawan, Sharma said, "we have demanded that by amending the Article 48 of Chapter 4 of the Constitution of India, a complete ban should be imposed on cow slaughter and a uniform law should be enacted in all the states in this regard".
