The chief minister asked the home department to start proceedings in this regard. He also said tainted policemen would be identified and action taken against them.
A bench comprising Justice R.F. Nariman and B.R Gavai said: "We may only say shocking state of affairs...the relaxation of a day in category D (areas having high Covid positivity rate) is wholly uncalled for." The bench emphasized, "Pressure groups of any kind, religious or otherwise, cannot in any manner interfere with citizens' fundamental right to life."
This is the second extension of the lockdown by a week. Earlier the Delhi government had extended it last week till the Monday next week.
The Students Parents Forum convener Vijender Mehra said the Director, Higher Education on 10 Nov had lifted the restriction imposed on private schools to only charge tuition fees from the students.
