A total of 198 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country during the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.
Of the new cases, 48 were reported from Karnataka, 40 from Maharashtra and 19 from West Bengal.
The total recovery stood at 4,44,87,992. The active cases in the country stands at 2,041.
As many as 605 new Covid cases were reported in the country during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
According to ministry data, the overall number of Covid cases in the country has climbed to 1,527,326, with 1,493,662 recoveries.
The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent, the ministry said.
Pakistan's Sindh province is the most affected region in terms of the number of cases, with 576,407 infections, followed by Punjab province which has reported 505,486 cases, so far.
The country has registered 7,40,430 confirmed cases of Covid since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.
A total of 184.52 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the Ministry said.
