A total of 198 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country during the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.
Of the new cases, 48 were reported from Karnataka, 40 from Maharashtra and 19 from West Bengal.
The total recovery stood at 4,44,87,992. The active cases in the country stands at 2,041.
As many as 605 new Covid cases were reported in the country during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
The daily positivity rate on Saturday was 0.56 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was 0.50 per cent.
On Friday, the state reported 286 active cases which is slightly higher than infections recorded in the previous days.
The cumulative COVID-19 caseload rose to 12,87,968, including 12,78,687 recoveries as 15 patients recovered in the previous day.
Adequate IEC, community sensitization and information sharing system should be in place to prevent misinformation and panic.
As per the Ministry's data, a total of 4,01,909 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 83.25 crore.
