Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
The campaign will cover as many as 70 municipal wards every week, with an objective to administer the first dose to all the citizens above 45 years and above.
India's overall tally of Covid-19 cases now stands at 2,89,09,975 with 14,01,609 active cases and 3,49,186 deaths so far.
The virus, however, claimed 320 lives, including 187 in Bengaluru, taking the state's death toll to 31,580 and the city's toll to 14,875 since the pandemic broke out in mid-March a year ago.
India's overall tally of Covid-19 cases now stands at 2,88,09,339 with 14,77,799 active cases and 3,46,759 deaths so far.
The call to action was taken after detailed discussions over a week by the state Disaster Management Unit with all other concerned departments and stakeholders.
