After months of negotiations, the players and CA have failed to reach agreement on a new pay deal.
"Not sure the players can do much more to solve the dispute," David Warner tweeted.
CA said it has advised Cricket South Africa of the players' decision.
"As a coach, I'll help the players prepare as well as we can," Australia A coach Gillespie said.
Pacer Josh Hazlewood said the breakdown in pay negotiations has left a bitter taste with the players.
The current Memorandum of Understanding between CA and the ACA expires at midnight.
Players have been warned that if they sign with competing sponsors they will not be offered new contracts.
The ACA has been involved in a bitter conflict with the national cricket board.
