The accounting profession has to remain in tune with the technological changes and keep in step with the new disruptive business models of the 21st century, Comptroller and Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu said on Saturday.
The major “culprits”, so to speak, are Patna Medical College and the Government Ayurvedic College in Begusarai. The CAG report has scanned the Nalanda Medical College, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, the Government Medical College in Bettiah and Darbhanga Medical College.
According to the CAG report tabled on the floor of the State assembly a couple of days back, deficient monitoring and supervision of the Department and medical institutes resulted in “irregular admission, admission on false mark-sheets, admission through fraudulent practices and irregular admission beyond sanctioned seats” in Patna Medical College, Patna and Government Ayurvedic College, Begusarai.
On Tuesday, the High Court had ordered the CAG to audit the relief funds that were initiated by both the Central and State Governments.
Taking a dim view of continuous delay in submission of utilisation certificates by various HP govt bodies, the CAG, in its report, asks the state govt to ensure their timely submission and review the funding of such bodies
