Almost every day, we read news about ghastly and fatal crashes on the roads across the country. It is a fact that for most of us, a road journey, short or long, is no longer safe in India.
New year is all set to bring faster and safer rail travel to commuters in India. After successfully giving faster, safer and world class travel experience to people travelling short and medium distance chair car trains, Indian Railways is making this a reality for long distance trains also.
As informed by the ER, the new time table includes provision of a new Krishnanagar – Ranaghat Local and extension of two Howrah – Singur Local, one up to Tarakeswar and another up to Haripal to suit the needs of the commuters in the suburban section.
A day after Christmas, a thick layer of fog engulfed the national capital on Thursday resulting in the reduction of visibility that inconvenienced commuters with the trains running behind their scheduled times and vehicles moving at low speed.
