With the nation reeling under power crisis across the country, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the Government of India should ensure the availability of sufficient amounts of coal with the power plants in the country.
According to a Nomura report, the coal stock position at the Central Election Authority (CEA) supervised 173 power plants stood at 21.93 million tonnes (MT), which is less than the regulatory requirement of 66.32 MT as of April 21.
Amid rising power demand in the country due to a continued heat wave, India is staring at an electricity crisis accentuated due to a coal shortage at over 150 power plants.
