Motorists struggling in queues for refilling CNG in their vehicles are likely to get some relief soon. A CNG station is expected to be functional in the next two to three months that would help in easing some pressure on them.
The Mahanagar Gas Ltd has hiked the prices of CNG by Rs 1.50/kg and domestic PNG by Rs 1/SCM in Mumbai and its surrounding areas with effect from midnight (July 8-9) on Monday, an official said.
Siam contended that this is the most direct and cleanest method for achieving the desired outcome without the need for subsidy.
The price cut comes into effect in the locations where the companies retail their CNG.
"Rs 30 for the first fall of 1.5 km (upon downing the meter) and thereafter Rs 11 per km for every additional kilometre," the notification said.
