The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, on Thursday, unanimously recommended the elevation of Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice Manmohan as a judge of the apex court.
The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed a petition seeking review of the 2021 Canon India judgment.
Observing that the NCLAT did not apply its mind while delivering the impugned decision, the apex court directed a fresh adjudication on the insolvency proceedings.

During the launch event, the Chief Justice said that FASTER came into existence, after a news report, published in July last year, regarding delay in release of prisoners. He added that the apex court had granted bail to prisoners three days ago, however there was a delay in physical copies of the orders reaching the prison officials.
Before the beginning of the proceedings of the day, the Chief Justice while paying the tribute said: "His passing away is a jolt to the entire legal fraternity. Justice Lahoti will always be remembered as a fearless and independent judge."
CJI said, "The current state of judicial infrastructure is terrible to say the least. It does not even meet the requirements of all existing judicial officers."
It emphasised that media should verify facts before putting out any information, adding: "We are sorry to observe that somebody is exceeding the limit of freedom of speech". The bench said these are all false representations.
Nine people, including four farmers, were killed on Sunday as violence erupted during a farmers' protest in Lakhimpur Kheri.
