Goa CM Pramod Sawant said that the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) is working to grow the film culture in Goa as many shootings take place in the state.
Sawant took oath as the Goa Chief Minister for the second consecutive term at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium today.
"I can say with pride that Goa has the best infrastructure for government colleges. This is my challenge. Anyone can prove this. Goa has the best infrastructure for the education sector. Goa has a unique aided education system, which is not there in any state. Other states have a private education system," Sawant said at a function organised to mark the laying of the foundation stone for the Shri Gopal Gaonkar Memorial Goa Multi Faculty College in Dharbandora sub district in South Goa.
"The problem is if one has to post a policeman for every person, every girl, how many police will we require? This is what it is. The government is not running away from responsibility. The government is protecting. Government is there with the people," Gaude told reporters on the sidelines of the ongoing Monsoon Session of the State Legislative Assembly.
"The development of greenfield international airport at Mopa in Pernem taluka is in progress and the first phase is expected to be commissioned by August 2022," Sawant said in a written reply to a question from BJP MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar.
Sawant also said that the Goa government would be starting a coding and robotics module in the state's schools in the coming academic year.
The famous Goa Carnival begins on February 22.
Currently, the state’s beaches are manned by local police and lifeguards.
