Justice D. Krishnakumar has officially taken oath as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur. The oath ceremony was administered by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here today.
Justice Suresh Kumar Kait took oath on Wednesday, as the new Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The state Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to the Chief Justice at the swearing-in ceremony organised at the Raj Bhavan here.
Justice Rabstan, who is currently the senior-most judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, will be the first Chief Justice from the Ladakh region.
The Banda Station House Officer (SHO), Anupam Dubey, has said the police will examine CCTV footage from the relevant post office to identify the sender.
An apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana on Monday, witnessed an unusual scenario in the courtroom, as a lawyer insisted that his case should become the lead petition among a batch of petitions challenging the extension given to present Enforcement Directorate chief Sanjay Kumar Mishra.
The Chief Justice said: "We must look at the impact of diabetes over the Indian healthcare system. Covid-19 has already exposed the fragility of our overburdened healthcare system. The major issue associated with the disease is that it attacks every organ of the body."
A three-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice and comprising Justices Qazi Mohammad Amin Ahmed and Ijazul Ahsan was hearing the issue.
He said that a person who is in a position of authority should be prepared to take both praise and criticism since it is the consequence of holding a public office.
The bench stated that the issue was left for Parliament to decide, and asked the counsel to read the judgment in the matter and then come back to the court.
