CJI Chandrachud said the issue, whether the powers under Article 239AA (7)(a) of the constitution could be invoked to make the law of the present nature, was not considered by the earlier two constitution benches in 2018 and 2023.

The apex court sought details about the security, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the violence between Meitei and Kuki communities.
The apex court pointed out that the movie is running in other parts of the country having the same demographic profile as West Bengal.
