Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday extended greetings as Chhath festivities started with the 'Nahay Khaaye' ritual, and the devotees from Purvanchal begin their fast as per the festival.
The minister held a high-level meeting with all district magistrates to ensure a smooth and hassle-free Chhath in the national capital.
Additionally, cultural programmes organized by the Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy will be held at several of these ghats.
Security arrangements will be put in place by Delhi Police like installation of CCTV cameras at various locations.
"Sanitation and repair work of the roads leading to these ghats and surrounding areas should be completed before the Chhath Puja," Tiwari stated in his letter to the three mayors.
