The ED earlier had stated that M Sivasankar is the kingpin in the case.
The AAP’s MLA and his PA were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs Four lakh. During the investigation, the MLA was also arrested in this case on 20 February as his PA had received the bribe on behalf of the MLA.
The case relates to the alleged fraudulent disbursal of loans amounting to 25,000 crores. The case triggered the filing of a PIL Petition in the Bombay high court by four persons.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Rakesh Kumar Singh passed a restraining order against the channel and list the matter on April 17 for further hearing.
An NIA spokesperson said that the anti-terror probe agency has filed a charge sheet against Hidayat Ullah Malik, Baseerat-ul-Ain, and Mudabir Manzoor, all residents of J&K's Shopian, Jan Mohammad Teeli, a resident of J&K's Anantnag, Mustaq Alam, a resident of Bihar's Chapra, and his brother Jawed Alam.
The investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly collected huge public funds amounting to Rs 31.49 crore in the form of deposits by issuing certificates in the names of plot or land bookings
Besides NCB, the Central Bureau of Investigation and the ED are investigating the death and financial angle of the case.
Based on the complaint, the police lodged a case on June 30, 2017, and sent a CD with Khan's speech as evidence.
Tharoor's name appears in the 'Column 2' of the charge sheet, which makes him the most likely suspect.
