The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Thursday, wrote to the commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) demanding a surprise action against encroachment in the Chandni Chowk and Khari Baoli area of Old Delhi.
The BJP MP from Chandni Chowk took oath as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha on Monday.
Held at the National Club, Fatehpuri, the meeting was attended by former Executive Director of Power Grid Corporation B S Pandey, along with his team, representatives from the traders’ associations and RWAs of all the areas of the constituency.
Talking to reporters here, the Chandni Chowk BJP MP said the shops have been destroyed due to the blaze.
Chandni Chowk BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal on Thursday discussed civic issues of his parliamentary constituency during an extensive meeting with MCD commissioner Gyanesh Bharti.
The remaining premises, it said, either are vacant or are small shops which are running with permissible activities.
On one such pleasant day, the renovated Chandni Chowk was formally re-opened to visitors.
