Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, V.K. Saxena, has sought a report from the Chief Secretary over the delay of two-and-a-half years on the part of the Vigilance Department to act on the Central Vigilance Commission's (CVC) inquiry report on construction of additonal classrooms in Delhi government schools.
A recent concept paper circulated by the Central Vigilance Commission noted that over 80 per cent of public projects were running behind schedule. The paper further noted that the quality of various public projects was a major area of concern. Needless to add, project delays result in massive cost overruns.
