US records 1,514 deaths in 24-hrs; Top health advisor says country likely to reopen in May
The United States has been recording nearly 2,000 deaths a day from the coronavirus, affecting disproportionately older people with weakened immune systems and ethnic minorities with less access to health care and teleworking.
