India's Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, will undertake an official visit to Algeria from October 31 to November 4, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the expanding defence partnership between India and Algeria.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Defence, the CDS emphasised that artificial intelligence, machine learning, advancements in stealth technology, hypersonics, and robotics will dictate the character of future wars.
The Doctrine is a keystone publication which will provide guidance to the Commanders for conduct of Amphibious Operations in today’s complex military environment.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday arrived in Drass in the Kargil district of Ladakh for the 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The day is marked every year to pay homage to the fallen soldiers in the 1999 Kargil conflict with Pakistan. The Raksha Mantri laid a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial here in the memory of the fallen bravehearts in the icy heights of Kargil.
According to the Army, General Chauhan reviewed the progress of infrastructure development and operational and logistics preparedness in the area.

This defence minister's statement comes six months after Gen Bipin Rawat, India’s first CDS, died in a helicopter crash in December 2021.
The probe team is headed by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh and includes two Brigadier-rank officers from the Army and Navy.
