Elections for the Contai Cooperative Bank (CCB) were marred by chaos and violence on Sunday, as tensions between Trinamul Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters escalated.
The elections in the CCB, which is located in the residential area of Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the state Legislative Assembly, are scheduled on 15 December. Around 430 candidates will contest in 108 seats of the CCB.
In a breakthrough, law enforcement authorities have dismantled a major cybercrime network operating in Bengaluru.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested five suspected terrorists and recovered explosive materials from their possession in Karnataka's Bengaluru, officials said on Wednesday.
The accused persons who purchased guns, have police cases against them.
CCB Joint Commissioner Sandeep Patil said, "As many as 7 foreign nationals are found to be overstaying and two were found with Ganja. At least 90 ecstasy tablets were seized from a Nigerian national. So far, 38 people were found without valid documents."
