Sikri, who last week sided with the government in the three-member committee to remove Alok Verma, agreed in December to be nominated to the post of President/Member of the London-based Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal (CSAT).
The decision to remove Verma from the post was taken at the meeting which was held at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Why is the Prime Minister in such a tearing hurry to sack the CBI chief? Why will he not allow the CBI chief to present his case in front of the selection committee? Answer: Rafale," tweeted Gandhi, who, post the apex court verdict, had claimed that the truth of Rafale will destroy Modi.
The apex court was hearing Alok Verma’s plea against the government for divesting him of his duties and sending him on leave following an ongoing spat between him and Asthana.
