CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi on Monday called India a "country of restless dreams and storytellers" at the curtain raiser for the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
‘Emergency’ co-producer Zee Entertainment informed the Bombay HC that it has agreed to the suggested cuts. Film expected to hit theatres soon.
The CBFC has issued a U/A certificate for 'Emergency' and suggested cuts, disclaimers, and fact-checking for certain scenes.
The court further said it is to be decided by the Election Commission whether the movie violates the Model Code of Conduct.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission said it will take a final call on Friday on the release of the film.
The film is slated for release on April 5, a week before the first phase of Lok Sabha elections.
The film based on the story of two 16-year-olds whose respective fathers have gone missing in Kashmir will release on 5 April 2019.
