The Telangana government on Wednesday officially launched its comprehensive socio-economic, employment, political, and caste survey, a key issue raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government, Gandhi said that Modi had waived off the loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore of 10-15 industrialists but was not giving the rightful MSP to farmers.
"We have to fight for caste census. Until the caste census is conducted, 73 per cent of the population will have to face struggle and bear the burden of injustice," he said.
Gehlot said, "PM's caste was that of a business community, people from Jain, Maheshwari, and Agarwal communities commonly use Modi surname."
