The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) came down heavily on the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for promoting e-commerce players to leverage district-specific products and their exports from the country.
The ongoing Diwali festival season is all set to bring cheers for the trading community of the country as it is expected that there will be a fresh infusion of about Rs 2.5 lakh crore in the markets by way of shopping and sale of goods and usage of services, said the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

CAIT's Delhi Chapter President Vipin Ahuja in a letter sent to Puri, stated that Delhi is the largest commercial distribution center of the country from where goods are transported to other states.
The CAIT has also decided to organise a national level conference of prominent chemists Associations of different states in 1st week of May. Also a delegation of CAIT will soon meet Mandaviya and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to apprise them about blatant violations of e-pharmacies in the country.

The survey will be the largest survey of retail trade in terms of its potentiality and capacities, challenges faced by the traders, and suggestive remedial measures, claimed CAIT.
CAIT National President Shri B.C.Bhartia said that covid restrictions in Delhi and across the country has badly affected the retail trade which has suffered a trade loss of about 70% in the last 25 days.
Stressing the need of such a meeting, Bhartia said that CAIT is of a considered opinion that all kinds of services provided in India through any digital mode including social commerce must have to be brought under the ambit of e-commerce.
