In a high-level meeting where around over 30 state ministers and officials of the organisation participated , the CM instructed that ministers should camp for 2 days and night every week in these assembly segments and talk to the workers and voters.
The ruling party of India had suffered a major setback in West Bengal bagging only 12 Lok Sabha (LS) seats while it had a phenomenal rise, winning 18 out of 42 seats in the state in 2019 parliamentary polls.
DMK’s Anniyur Siva polled 1,24,053 votes while his nearest rival C Anbmani of the the OBC-Vanniyar dominant Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), an NDA constituent, secured 56,296 votes.
Shah defeated Invati by 3,027 votes after the final 21st round of counting. Shah received 83,105 votes, while Invati secured 80,078 votes.
As polling began in 333 booths, people queued up outside to cast their votes. No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the Union Territory.
The incident at Bandipur in Khardah immediately triggered tension as the Trinamool Congress supporters started giving slogans and this prompted the central forces to resort to lathi-charge resulting in the injury of Aryadeep Sinha - son of late MLA Kajal Sinha's son.
The ruling party is facing rebellion in all three assembly segments while Congress is facing infighting in two constituencies of Arki and Fatehpur.
The 27 companies comprised eight of CRPF, nine of BSF and five each of CISF and SSB while 53 companies would comprise 10 of CRPF, 25 of BSF, five each of CISF and SSB and eight of ITBP.
Sources in the BJP said there was a strong perception that family members of BJP MLA Gautam Lal Meena in Dhariawad who passed away due to COVID a few months back will be fielded from there to encash the emotional card.
