“Why should people who violate the law get economic benefits,” asked the apex court.
The pollution in and around Delhi has reached an alarming level as the air quality index (AQI) has been recorded as very poor on Wednesday.
In order to control stubble burning, the state government has implemented a framework which includes in-situ crop residue management, ex-situ management, effective monitoring, enforcement and wide reach of Information Education and Communication activities, said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Punjab Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhawan appealed to the farmers not to set the stubble on fire so that a clean and pollution free environment could be ensured for the state.
