As the Jharkhand Budget Session approaches, the political temperature in the state is rising, with the government and opposition locked in a fierce debate over economic issues.
A much-expected stormy budget session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature will commence tomorrow with the opposition expected to raise issues including the Mahakumbh stampede, Milkipur assembly bypolls and privatisation of the power sector.
The Government of India is setting up a national cooperative university and a bill for the purpose will be tabled before the Lok Sabha in the Budget Session of Parliament.
Parliament was adjourned on Thursday and will reconvene on March 10, in the second and final half of the Budget session.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim union budget on Thursday.
Finance Minister Atishi will present her maden budget on February 16.
Finance Minister K N Balagopal will present the state budget for 2024-25 on February 5. The Assembly will take up the debate on the motion of thanks for Governor’s speech from January 29 to 31.
On the first day, Governor Anandiben Patel will address the joint session of both the Houses at 1100 hrs.
The Budget Session is likely to begin in the last week of January.
