This was stated in a Joint Statement released at the end of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Brunei Darussalam, which concluded on Wednesday.
The new facility, located at the Jalan Duta Diplomatic Enclave adjacent to the US Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, was lauded by PM Modi as a symbol of the strong ties between the two nations.
'Went to the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Brunei,'' the PM wrote on X.
This is the first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Brunei. The historic visit of the Prime Minister coincides with the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Brunei.
Leaders are hoping for a breakthrough in RCEP talks at this weekend's meeting of the ASEAN after seven years of negotiations over the deal, which would comprise 30 per cent of global commerce and half the world's population if signed.
