In a post on X, PM Modi said, "Held talks with President Lula during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Complimented him on various efforts of Brazil during their G20 Presidency."

Since January 17, Brazil has vaccinated more than 10 million people, with more than 8 million having received the first dose.
Brazil currently accounts for the second highest number of Covid-19 fatalities at 260,970, followed by Mexico (188,044) on the third place and India (157,435) on the fourth.
Currently, the country has an average of 123 deaths and 5,101 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
