Earlier in May, the top court had directed the agency to complete investigation into the case -- in which 11 girls were allegedly murdered -- within two weeks.
The apex court posted the matter for hearing on June 3 and also asked the probe agency to file a status report before that.
The Supreme had in November last year transferred the investigation to the CBI after the Bihar government failed to handle the case with efficiency.
The case came to light when the Bihar Social Welfare Department filed an FIR based on a social audit of the shelter home conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
The Supreme Court also asked the state government and the CBI to file a response as to why Chandra Shekhar Verma, husband of former Bihar minister Manju Verma, has not been arrested yet.
Around 34 inmates of the shelter home were sexually assaulted and it was reported that one of the girls was killed and later buried to cover up the murder.
