The Karnataka High Court on Friday cancelled the board examinations for the fifth and eighth standards from this academic year. The ministry of education was all set to hold the board exams from this academic year.
Counsel for the state of Assam and state of Tripura has informed the court that the concerned Board of the respective states has canceled the ensuing XII standard Board Examination
Miss Banerjee said that the evaluation methods for Higher Secondary and Madhyamik students will be finalised by the two boards after consultation with experts and the state education department within seven days.
The phones will be equipped with various smart features such as touch screen, camera and pre-loaded government applications like 'e-Sewa App' with e-content related to Class XI and Class XII, as approved by the department of school education.
The remaining CBSE papers which were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic were to be held from July 1 to 15.
Meanwhile, the top court also took up another plea that sought directions to scrap the ICSE examination in the backdrop of Covid-19 pandemic.
The HRD ministry has already announced that students will appear for exams at schools in which they are enrolled rather than external examination centres. As per the MHA order, no examination centre is permitted in containment zones.
Earlier on May 8, the Government had informed that the pending CBSE Board examinations for Class 10 and 12 will be held between July 1-15.
