The Karnataka High Court on Friday cancelled the board examinations for the fifth and eighth standards from this academic year. The ministry of education was all set to hold the board exams from this academic year.

Miss Banerjee said that the evaluation methods for Higher Secondary and Madhyamik students will be finalised by the two boards after consultation with experts and the state education department within seven days.
Mr Chatterjee’s meeting on Wednesday with the authorities of universities made no headway as the Vice-Chancellors ruled out the reopening of hostels and insisted on suitably sanitised classrooms.
The objective, announced rather belatedtly, is to ensure, that students do attend school for practical classes, to complete the projects, for revision, and for clearing doubts.
“The Classes 10 and 12 CBSE board exams 2021 will not be held in January and February. The exact exam schedule will be decided after February 2021,” said Pokhriyal.
As part of the central government initiative to conduct examinations on time amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has planned a three-way dialogue with the students, parents and teachers across the country.
As per the tentative dates, the practical exams for Class 12 would be conducted from January 1 till February 8 while the exact dates for the exams would be notified later, CBSE clarified.
