The Union ministers said for the first time a serious effort is being made to explore and harness the ocean resources and provide tremendous value addition to the Indian economy over the next 25 years.
The release of ‘India’s Blue Economy: A Draft Policy Framework’ by the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister in late 2020 was another milestone in the evolution of India’s blue economy policy.
PM Modi and his counterparts from Nordic countries agreed to work together to fight and address climate change and protect the natural environment in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
This can include Infrastructure enhancement, fairway development, navigational aids and river information systems.
He noted that instead of a piecemeal approach focus is on the entire sector as one.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, said that "no country can succeed alone in this endeavour".
