Modi is understood to have specifically asked the MPs to reach out to the middle class and the poorer sections to explain to them how they stand to gain from the new income tax slabs.
Modi was addressing a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary party attended by all top leaders of the party, including party chief J P Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
