Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday reached Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment and paid tributes to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, who died in a military chopper crash on December 8.
Thakur stated that even enemies were afraid of Gen Rawat's name and several successful operations were conducted during his reign as CDS.

General Rawat had stressed for a relook at the syllabus that leads children into believing that they were not part of this country. The textbooks in schools of Kashmir have two maps, one of India and the other of J&K, which develops a sense of separate identity.
“There is a parliamentary resolution that entire Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India. If Parliament wants that area (PoK) should also be ours…if we get any direction, we will definitely take appropriate action,” he said at a press conference here.

On December 30 last year, General Bipin Rawat was named the first Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), a post created to make it the main point of contact for the government for dealing with defence forces’ issues.
As the Army chief, General Rawat, at an event in Delhi on Thursday, had said that 'leaders are not those who lead the people in inappropriate direction'.
